Fresh from a stellar performance at the New Zealand Architecture Awards last month, where BVN Donovan Hill and Jasmax won the Architecture Medal, ASB’s North Wharf building has won the top prize at the Property Council Property Industry Awards.
The project entry won the Supreme Property Industry award, along with category trophies for best commercial office property and a merit in the Green Building Property award.
The North Wharf building was developed by the Kiwi Income Poperty Trust.
“Everything about this building was impressive,” says judging convenor John Dunn. “The attention to detail, the co-operation of all stakeholders, the leading edge engineering features incorporated, the commitment to sustainability and the delivery of a very complex project providing quality office accommodation for the ASB’s head office.”
Evaluation criteria also included economic and financial factors, project vision and innovation (including degree of difficulty), design and construction, owner and user satisfaction and sustainability and efficiency of operation.
North Wharf beat 64 other project finalists to take the top award. Forty other projects were recognised, with nine given an excellence award and another nine gaining a best in category award.
