The UK New Zealander of the Year 2014 is Eric Tracey, a finance professional who became the first non-British partner in Touche Ross (Deloitte) in 1980.  

Tracey grew up in Auckland, first came to the UK in 1973 and helped to create the UK branch of the NZ Society of Accountants (NZICA). He’s also a former chair of the NZTE European Beachheads Programme.

The UK New Zealander of the Year award recognises the outstanding contribution that a New Zealand or British national has made in promoting the interests of New Zealand or New Zealanders in the United Kingdom.

Runners up were university lecturer Will Katene and co-founder of the Katherine Mansfield Societ Dr Gerri Kimber. 

The New Zealand Society Lifetime Achievement Award 2014 was also announced, and presented to Barrie Neilson of Sailing Holidays.
