NZ spirits company lands major UK supermarket deal

Popular Kiwi spirits company, Scapegrace Distilling Co lands a distribution deal with one of the biggest supermarket chains in the UK, Waitrose.

Known for holding premium and quality products, Waitrose is partnering up with Scapegrace to stock some of their acclaimed spirits.

Their most popular drinks are set to be available across over 200 stores in the UK, while also being offered on the Waitrose online channel.

Scapegrace Co-Founder Daniel McLaughlin says this opportunity is significant in expanding their brand presence across the country.

“We’re extremely excited about this partnership, which is taking the best of New Zealand distilling to consumers across the UK,” says McLaughlin.

Already, Scapegrace is available in 42 markets across the world, and through this partnership with Waitrose they hope to grow the brand further and they continue on their growth trajectory.

Waitrose & Partners’ Spirits Buyer, John Vine, says the partnership with Scapegrace is perfect.

The partnership with Waitrose comes at a time where Scapegrace is finishing up the second stage of their $30 million distillery project in March.

Founded in 2014, Scapegrace Distilling Co is set to have to largest distillery project in the country, located in Central Otago.

Scapegrace’s new location is set to support the brand’s growth and ever-increasing global demand for their products.
