Fate loves the fearless: Five reasons Kiwis punch above their weight in innovation

When former Saatchi & Saatchi CEO (and Idealog columnist and boss) Mike Hutcheson decided to do his Masters thesis, creativity and innovation were obvious topics .

“Hutch” interviewed four luminaries: Kevin Roberts (global Saatchis/Lovemarks), George Hickton (Tourism NZ, Hobbiton) Phillip Mills (Les Mills) and Louise Webster (NZ Innovation Council), and put together a half-hour documentary and three video podcasts around New Zealand’s love-hate relationship with innovation and creativity.

Part two, “Elusive Kiwi Ingenuity”, looks at the traits that help us punch above our weight on the world’s stage.

OK, so we didn’t land a man on the moon, but we did invent the egg-beater.
