The Supreme Winner at the Red Awards this year was the Naumi Hotel – Phase 2. Muir Design Solutions and Material Creative were the designers behind the 193-room Mangere project, and the shopfitters were ?CBC Construction, Vkart and Gartshore’s.
The Red Awards judges commented: “Daring moody colour scheme and material selection. Considered layout and the lighting is impressive.”
Material Creative was also the supreme winner of the Red Awards 2017 for its work on Birkenhead’s Junction Eatery and in 2016, for Hayes Common Eatery in Hamilton. These previous wins had bearing on the current project – the Singapore-based client behind the Naumi Hotel approached Material Creative with the contract after Googling ‘award-winning New Zealand designers’.
