UPDATE: According to Musk, by Monday morning NZ time, Tesla had received over 276,000 preorders of the Model 3. That's over US$10 billion of future purchases. For a car that no-one has seen and doesn't ship until the end of next year.
I hate to use Gladwellisms, but, could the Model 3 be electric cars' tipping point?
today Friday, Tesla will open (or just opened i f you're reading later) online orders on it's new Model 3 and, for the first time, is accepting orders from New Zealand.
Tesla inventor/CEO Elon Musk announced the news on Twitter:
