Recognised since 1909, International Women's Day is a day of celebrating just how much women contribute to society, economy and communities. But it's also a rallying cry, to recognise the work that is left to be done to achieve true gender equality. We take a look at how brands reacted to the annual celebration of womanhood.

But Vodafone's global rebrand has adopted a slightly more positive view on what the future might hold.

In the 2013 census, 21.3 percent of the population identified themselves as being able to converse in Māori, continuing a downward trend for the language. Now, in an effort to keep the language alive for generations to come, local brands are marking Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) with some lessons.
