My own take on focus is aligned with Ben’s. It’s easy to identify your top three priorities, so long as you understand what the overarching goals are. The hard work is removing everything that’s not a priority from the work day. As a manager your role is to help the team by creating a high-quality work environment, and part of that is to provide air cover, removing all distractions but the tasks at hand. For some that might mean removing access to the internet, and for others it might mean wearing headphones to prevent interruption.
