A new report by global HR platform Remote has ranked Auckland as the fourth best city in the world for remote work.
The high ranking for the ‘City of Sails’ takes a range of factors into consideration, such as quality of life, safety, internet infrastructure, economics, travel and more..
The Remote survey looked at 100 top global destinations for remote work and ranked them according to what fits digital nomads and other remote professionals best.
Auckland beat the likes of popular destinations like Tokyo, Paris, Taipei and Stockholm.
New Zealand’s biggest city ranked high in key metrics such as openness, attractiveness, safety and quality of life. However, it was off the pace in terms of cost of living, getting a rating of 47 out of 100.
Madrid in Spain takes the number one spot, followed by Madeira in Portugal in second and Toronto in Canada comes third.
Following the pandemic and as digital nomads become more and more normal, remote work has become a necessity or choice for many and selecting the right destination has never been more critical.
