Pacific Dance Festival returns for 2024

Pacific Dance Festival

Back for 2024, the Pacific Dance Festival is coming to New Zealand to celebrate culture, heritage and the artistic innovation that is Pasifika dance.

Held in Auckland and Northland, the Pacific Dance Festival is promising to show the breadth of Pasifika culture to “warm hearts and ignite imaginations” throughout the month of June.

This year’s festival is hoping to embark on a voyage of interconnectedness and unity showcased through mosaics of cultures, dances and musical traditions.

“At Pacific Dance New Zealand, we believe in the transformative power of dance to transcend boundaries and nurture connections,” shares Festival Director, Iosefa Enari.

“Through the festival, we aim to celebrate the kaleidoscope of Pacific cultures while highlighting the profound interconnectedness of our global family.”

The festival is set to showcase a number of performances across multiple venues in June, including the MOANA Showcase at the Māngere Arts Centre on June 15.

“We are thrilled to present such a diverse and dynamic line-up for this year’s festival,” says Enari.

“From classical Pacific melodies to contemporary choreography, from ancestral storytelling to visions of the future, there is something for everyone to enjoy.”

In addition to the performances, the festival will feature free shows with open rehearsals.

For those interested, tickets will be available soon.
