Why the Women in Marketing event promises to be a day of inspiration, leadership and networking

Cassie Roma.

Women in marketing in New Zealand are curious, creative change makers. To celebrate their impact on the industry and dive deep into some lively discussions about what it's like to be a woman in the industry, the Marketing Association is hosting its Women In Marketing event next Tuesday, which is the first of its kind. Speakers on the line up include Anna Dean and Angela Meyer, co-founders of Double Denim, Cassie Roma, head of content marketing at The Warehouse Group, Caitlin Attenburrow, brand manager at Whittaker's, Julia Jack, chief marketing officer at Mercury and Idealog's own Elly Strang, who will be moderating a panel with some of the previously mentioned women. Read on for more details on where to find tickets.

With a line up chock-full of inspirational women often featured on this very site, Women in Marketing is an event not to be missed.

Angela Meyer and Anna Dean

Angela Meyer and Anna Dean, co-founders of Double Denim, will talk about their pioneering research on female consumer behaviour in New Zealand and Australia, and how to connect with the $28 trillion global female economy. They'll be sharing insight of brands who get it right – and wrong – and providing further insights into female-focused campaigns.

Kim Pick

Kim Pick, the executive creative director of VMLY&R New Zealand, has spent her career traversing the world working in advertising, picking up over 100 awards for her world and was appointed creative director at just 26 years old. She'll be sharing her thoughts on being a woman in the creative industry and ways to challenge the status quo.

Aisha Daji Punga

Idealog editor Elly Strang will be moderating a panel featuring chief executive of the Starship Foundation Aisha Daji Punga, Mercury CMO Julia Jack, chief customer officer at Stuff Pip Cameron, and director of marketing excellence and delivery at Frucor Suntory Tania Bui. The panel will be discussing their personal challenges and journeys to how they got where they are today, how to take chances and trust your gut, the secrets to thriving in a fast-paced industry, and more.

Other speakers include head of client services at TRA Terri Hall, Whittaker's brand manager Caitlin Attenburrow and Anika Moa grilling head of content at The Warehouse Group Cassie Roma over a few bubbles on how to be your authentic self, personal branding and stepping outside your comfort zone.
