The New Zealand Law Society recognised the important role of in-house lawyers during their CLANZ awards last Friday.
CLANZ represents the 21 percent of lawyers employed by major organisations as in-house counsel.
Four lawyers were recognised, with two awards going to the Auckland Council in-house team:
Wendy Brandon, general counsel, Auckland Council – Chapman Tripp Public Sector In-House Lawyer of the Year
Richard Harker, Solicitor, Auckland Council – MAS Young In-House Lawyer of the Year
Therese Singleton, executive legal counsel, AMP Financial Services – Greenwood Roche Chisnall Private Sector In-House Lawyer of the Year
Nicholina Adjei, Senior Solicitor, Ministry of Social Development – Wigley & Company Community Contribution Award for her work with Wellington Women’s Refuge
