The New Zealand Institute and the New Zealand Business Roundtable are to merge, effective April 1.
The idea is that they’ll form a new, “independent, non-partisan” think tank, with better resourcing and a heightened ability to be a stronger voice on public policy issues.
New Zealand Institute director Rick Boven will leave at the end of this month and a replacement is being sought.
While the two entities are to merge, their websites(www.nzinstitute.org and www.nzbr.org.nz) will continue to exist separately online, with their respective work available as archives on the new site of the new organization.
A name for the new post-merger entity is as yet unknown.
