The Property Council has elected the current chief executive of Ngai Tahu Property Limited, Tony Sewell, as its national president.
Sewell has been in the construction and property industry for over 40 years and has been in charge of Ngai Tahu since 1994. In this time he grew its land asset base from $2 million to more than $500 million.
He cited his goals as maintaining advisory roles with central and local government.
“I would like to see the property sector take a lead role in the development and funding of infrastructure in New Zealand,” said Sewell.
Sewell takes over from the outgoing Chris Gudgeon.
