Local Government New Zealand has chosen a new chief executive – Genesis Energy's general manager of corporate affairs, Malcolm Alexander.

Local Government New Zealand has chosen a new chief executive – Genesis Energy's general manager of corporate affairs, Malcolm Alexander.

Alexander's appointment will be taken up from April.

He is responsible for government and regulatory affairs, public and media relations, corporate brand and sponsorship, and business strategy and planning at Genesis Energy.

Alexander is also a barrister and solicitor of the High Court, a member of the board of the NZ Council for Infrastructure Development and was chair of the Telecommunications Carriers’ Forum between 2002 and 2008.
