Professor Sir Peter Gluckman, chief science adviser to the Prime Minister, is a staunch champion of science as a pillar of economic development and innovation. And turning Auckland into a major Asia-Pacific innovation hub will be the topic du jour when he speaks in Auckland next week.
Innovation Through Science – the Pathway to Economic Prosperity forms part of Auckland Council’s regular Auckland Conversations series, in which leading international academics and thinkers discuss matters of importance to the region.
After the address, Sir Peter will be guest of honour at a dinner hosted by mayor Len Brown. Forty business leaders will also attend and debate how tgese recommendations can be turned into specific actions to lift Auckland’s game .
