As The Civilian continues to grow in popularity, New Zealand has just seen the birth of a new satirical news website.
The Chop was launched on 30 October and is a new online publication that promises "an alternative look at the news and life in New Zealand". According to the press release, the site aims to provide news "chopped, seasoned and served the way it really is" (whatever that is).
The release adds that the site will not use sensationalised sexual content or profanities, making it suitable for young and mature readers.
The Chop displays a number of articles for free but users can also choose to pay NZ$1.99 for a monthly VIP subscription, to get exclusive content.
The satirical site is now live on www.thechop.co.nz.
