Nothing tastes better than pie, except maybe free pie

Nothing tastes better than pie, except maybe free pie

Pie Face, the global pie and bakery chain that puts funny faces on its pies, has arrived in New Zealand with a new store now open in the Auckland CBD and others already planned.

The store sells over 16 savoury and sweet flavours of pie, including top sellers such as Thai chicken curry, chunky steak, tandoori vegetable and bacon and egg. For the New Zealand market, Pie Face has also created butter chicken and mince and cheese pies. Stop drooling all over your keyboard.

If you don't feel like pie (why?), the store includes mini pizzas, sausage rolls, filled wraps, bagels, lamingtons, muffins and cakes, with gluten free and vegetarian offers available.

Pie Face also does espresso coffee with customers being able to choose from four strengths ranging from the softer blend Still Asleep to the super strong Kick My Arse.

The company was founded in Sydney in 2003 and operates close to 80 stores across Australia, five in New York and is expanding into the United Arab Emirates and India.

With the first Pie Face now open in Auckland at 18 Shortland St, the inner city outlet caters for both take-out and dine-in with a 24-hour license expected to make it a popular option with the late night crowd.

Watch out for a Quay St outlet expected to open in November, and New Lynn and Christchurch scheduled for mid-next year.
