Good Night ‘anti-energy drink’ for NZzzz’s sleeplessness epidemic

Energy drinks have been saturating the market with their sugary, peppy, guarana-y elixirs for years. They come in sugar-free, extra sugary, orange, blue, silver, jumbo and now… sleepy. Like the seventh dwarf who’s more ‘good night’s rest’ than ‘good night out’, there’s finally an answer to New Zealand’s sleeplessness epidemic.

Good Night, which is being distributed by New Zealand’s Best Beverage Company, uses ingredients that are more natural than unpronounceable. The recipe includes valerian (an extract used for centuries to ease sleep problems, anxiety and restlessness) lavender, rose hip and cactus fig. There are no preservatives, artificial colours or sweeteners.

If you’re thinking of replacing your usual nightcap, you can find Good Night in Countdown supermarkets and a number of health stores. You can also order online from the Best Beverage Company website.

This self-styled anti-energy drink will rock you gently to sleep when more energy is the last thing you want or need. So, curl up with your knitting, a can of Good Night and get ready to score some serious Zs.
