Fairfax-owned TradeMe has a pretty firm hold on the property listing market, and that's about to expand with its purchase of holidayhomes.co.nz.

Fairfax-owned TradeMe has a pretty firm hold on the property listing market, and that's about to expand with its purchase of holidayhomes.co.nz.

According to chief executive Jon Macdonald, the deal adds to TradeMe's current travel portfolio, which includes Travelbug, BookIt and Holiday Houses.

Meanwhile, Smartpay has bought Wellington-based Eftpos terminal provider Viaduct, making it the largest operator in the country.

Smartpay, which provides retailers with payments and transactions services, has agreed to buy  for $16.3 million in cash and shares, a transaction representing almost a third of Smartpay's value.
