Stay Today, a price-drop app for booking same-day accommodation (see previous Idealog stories here and here) and data management provider Mohio have been awarded $150,000 and $100,000 respectively by the Global from Day One Fund, according to the Herald.
The Global from Day One fund – set up by Wellington's Sparkbox Ventures and Auckland incubator The Icehouse, targets New Zealand tech companies with export potential.
Stay Today is active in New Zealand and Australia, while Sparkbox chairman Andrew Duff told the Herald that Australian and US companies had expressed interest in Mohio.
Idealog has been covering the most interesting people, businesses and issues from the fields of innovation, design, technology and urban development for over 12 years. And we're asking for your support so we can keep telling those stories, inspire more entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and keep pushing New Zealand forward. Give over $5 a month and you will not only be supporting New Zealand innovation, but you’ll also receive a print subscription and a copy of the new book by David Downs and Dr. Michelle Dickinson, No. 8 Recharged (while stocks last).
