Thanks to Oritain Global Limited, a consumer can buy a piece of fruit in a German supermarket and track it back to the exact orchard it originated in.
Oritain authenticates the origins of natural products (honey, dairy, wine, meat), mapping the journey from start to finish. It works with producers to develop scientific ‘fingerprints’ of their products that can be used to audit anywhere along the supply chain, immune to manipulation or tampering. Consumers, who tend to associate quality with origin, can therefore have confidence in what they’re eating, while producers can exonerate themselves if questioned.
After all, food origin labels are only as accurate as the tracing systems used to back them up.
