ATEED and The Icehouse make it official

Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) and the Icehouse are formalising their partnership, with ATEED putting $70,000 of investment in to seal the deal.

Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) and the Icehouse are formalising their partnership, with ATEED putting $70,000 of investment in to seal the deal.

The first component of the investment is ATEED support for the New Zealand Angel Investment Showcase, organised by the Icehouse and Ice Angels, to be held on October 23 where 15 companies will pitch for money.

Angel investors who attended last year’s Investment Showcase invested $2.5 million across 11 of the 17 startups which presented.
Companiesthat  attracted investment covered the spectrum of industry sectors, including 1Above, Caldera Health, Nextspace, Photonz, Nexus6 and MiniMonos.

The partnership will also see the two organisations work together on initiatives including the Ice Angels Chinese Group (regular meetings of Chinese investors in Auckland) and The Icehouse’s popular monthly entrepreneur events, known as First Wednesday.

Says Icehouse chief executive Andy Hamilton: "ATEED’s work with Auckland businesses complements our goal of significantly accelerating growth of entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses across the region."
