TED has exploded onto the world stage in recent years, but Wellington hasn't had a chance to play in that sandpit since TEDxYouth@Wellington in 2010. This year's the year, though: come November the capital will host its very own TEDx event, and you can nominate speakers and/or volunteer now on the website.
TEDxTeAro organiser DK says Wellington is a natural location for the event.
"We're excited to bring TEDx to Wellington, where there's no shortage of amazing ideas and stories. We really want the Wellington community to participate in suggesting individuals and ideas which deserve to be shared."
A venue and speakers are still to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, preparations for TEDx Auckland are thundering along ahead of the big day next month (more info here).
Idealog has been covering the most interesting people, businesses and issues from the fields of innovation, design, technology and urban development for over 12 years. And we're asking for your support so we can keep telling those stories, inspire more entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and keep pushing New Zealand forward. Give over $5 a month and you will not only be supporting New Zealand innovation, but you’ll also receive a print subscription, an Idealog t-shirt and a copy of the new book by David Downs and Dr. Michelle Dickinson, No. 8 Recharged (while stocks last).
