Rod Drury on building a global tech firm from NZ

If anyone in New Zealand is qualified to speak about building a successful global technology company, Rod Drury, chief executive and founder of Xero, would surely be at the top of that list.

In fact, he'll be speaking at a Getting IT Right and Auckland ICT event on September 20, where he'll discuss the lessons learnt along the road to entrepreneurship.

Drury is a member of the New Zealand Hi-Tech Hall of Fame, NZ Hi-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006 and 2007, World Class New Zealander for ICT in 2008 and an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of IT Professionals (formerly known as the New Zealand Computer Society).

“Rod is a truly innovative entrepreneur who has achieved great success with Xero and we are delighted to have him share his experiences at the event," says Scott Groombridge, founder of Getting IT Right.

The non-profit Getting IT Right initiative was launched in 2011 to improve IT in New Zealand and has launched the Getting IT Right Seminar Series.
