Wellington's Anagenix Ltd, a nutritional product development company, has just announced a major distribution deal with US-based Stratum Nutrition.
As a result of the partnership, Stratum is launching two Anagenix-made kiwifruit-based products, Actazin and ApuraGreen, into the US, Europe, Canada, Australia and other countries.
Stratum Nutrition is a subsidiary of multinational Novus International Inc and offers a range of specialty and functional ingredients for manufacturers and marketers of foods, beverages, and dietary supplements.
“We have always been focused on driving export sales and this
partnership will significantly boost sales of our nutritional products,
Actazin and ApuraGreen, in our key international markets this year,"
said Anagenix COO, Melissa Yiannoutsos.
Yiannoutsos said there was increasing consumer interest in preventative healthcare and food, beverages and dietary supplement products with health benefits.
Stratum Nutrition president Jeremy Moore said the partnership was instrumental in supporting its corporate mission to sustainably meet the global need for nutrition and health.
“Stratum will greatly benefit from Anagenix’s long-standing relationship with the prestigious New Zealand research community and looks forward to a mutually beneficial partnership in developing kiwifruit-based nutritional ingredients,” he said.
Actazin and ApuraGreen are both manufactured in Christchurch and Gisborne. Actazin is a kiwifruit supplement ingredient for digestive health while ApuraGreen is a kiwifruit paste that can replace eggs, dairy products, butter, or oils in cooking.
