Eco-lightbulb manufacturer Energy Mad has snagged a major deal supplying the world's largest drugstore chain, Walgreens.
It's quite a coup for the Christchurch company, and represents a significant foothold in the US.
According to Fairfax, the first shipment of Energy Mad's energy-efficient bulbs (to the tune of around $1.7 million) will be dispatched in about three months, followed by regular restocking orders.
Having nationwide distribution in the US would also give Energy Mad more leverage when in discussions with electricity utility companies, managing director Chris Mardon said.
