Kiwi business Manuka Doctor has nabbed a finalists' spot in the annual Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) UK Beauty Awards for its purified bee venom products.
Manuka Doctor director, Nicola Macfarlane, said the company was thrilled to be named a finalist in the Best New Brand – Mass category, so soon after launching in the UK late last year (initial shipments of some products sold out within the first three weeks).
“Being named as a finalist in the awards is solid endorsement of all our hard work and investment in developing the range. It is also further proof that local companies that ‘think big’ are capable of achieving success internationally.”
Choosing to launch its range in the UK has paid off, she said, and with orders continuing to flow in, the company is now launching its beauty range back on home turf and has a store on the corner of Quay and Lower Albert Streets, Auckland.
She said the company wanted Kiwis to enjoy the "many benefits" of purified bee venom, a key ingredient in its ranges, based on 12 years of research and the development of a patented purification process.
