After weeks of intense speculation, Ikea fans can rejoice in the news that the Swedish furniture brand is finally coming to New Zealand – sort of.
Myflatpack will be the first dedicated Ikea stockist in New Zealand when its Newmarket store opens for business next month.
It currently sells Ikea products online, which the company imports from Australia.
Myflatpack told Auckland Now that the showroom would enable customers to see its products before buying,
Last month rumours were circulating that an Ikea branch would open at Westgate Shopping Centre in west Auckland.
So far reaction on the Facebook groupI want Ikea stores to open in New Zealand, which has nearly 10,000 likes, has been underwhelming, with fans keen to see the brand personally launch its own shops.
