Stray Kangaroo jewellery, price varies
While Sonia Voigt’s career as a TV journalist saw her dressed up and made up to the nines, her jewellery business involves the opposite extreme: sawing, soldering, hammering, drilling and other far-fromglamorous tasks. Then again, her fledgling years spent on a South Australian farm playing with tools in an old blacksmith’s shop were perhaps a good indication of her future direction. Now living in Auckland and working part-time with TVNZ, Voigt spends her spare time designing, creating and manufacturing jewellery. Launched in November, the Stray Kangaroo line features original handmade items embellished with gems sourced from all over the world.
