Some call Webstock the greatest conference this side of Silicon Valley while others just call Webstock the greatest conference—period. I have to admit that I’m a Webstock newbie but thanks to generous sponsors, I’ll be blogging the conference on CloudAve, the specialist cloud-computing blog. For those whose interests don’t quite run to the minutiae of cloud-computing, the fine folks at Idealog agreed with my contention that getting together was a match-made-in-heaven.
Webstock looks amazing with a lineup of some of the most respected and entertaining speakers from all around the world. From journalism to sci-fi, from design to gaming, the speaker list is eclectic and inspiring.
Word on the street (or at least on Twitter) is that one of the epicurean highlights of Webstock is the free gourmet ice-cream for attendees, if your monitor is sticky from reading Webstock updates you’ll know some careless journo has spilt something.
So drop back in for scintillating, up-to-the-minute and generally opinionated commentary from Webstock—beginning this Thursday morning.
Ben Kepes spends his time torn between the physical and virtual worlds. When in real-world mode he is co-owner of Cactus Climbing an outdoor equipment and clothing manufacturer as well as sitting on a number of boards. In the somewhat less real world he is a freelance journalist, an extensive blogger and spends altogether too much time utilising a variety of social media services. He blogs here and here and can be followed on Twitter here.
