Guided inside the NYC Manhattan loft studio of kiwi painter Max Gimblett, by the artist
Kiwi painter Max Gimblett is a leading force in New Zealand visual arts. His creative studio space is located in New York City, at the lower end of Manhattan, far removed from the green green grass of home. From NYC Max travels the world, and is frequently in New Zealand where he works with young artists at Auckland University.
The worksmdash;like the quatrefoil-shaped piece in this video—include lots of black, white and silver-gilt.
This video was made by me in NYC a few weeks ago, at Max’s Bowery studio. The sound level of the recording is low, so turn up your speakers! Or just watch the pictures.
