Now that a couple of days have passed since the event, I can probably write coherently that Idealog won two categories at the Qantas Media Awards on Friday night. We landed the Best Feature Website gong for, er, this website, and Hamish Coney is the deserved winner of Best Arts Columnist. Idealog was also a finalist for Best Trade/Professional Magazine, but lost out to Consumer. No shame in that.
Some of our friends did well, too. Congratulations in particular to Richard MacManus, who has appeared in our pages as subject, and won the Best Blog award for ReadWriteWeb. We enjoyed telling the incredulous hacks around us that RWW is ranked at #11 on Technorati’s list of the world’s top 100 blogs.
Okay, enough of that, back to us ... there’s no point in winning a title unless you’re prepared to defend it. We’re currently planning some improvements to our site. If there’s a feature you’d like to see, drop me a line or comment below.
Idealog has been covering the most interesting people, businesses and issues from the fields of innovation, design, technology and urban development for over 12 years. And we're asking for your support so we can keep telling those stories, inspire more entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and keep pushing New Zealand forward. Give over $5 a month and you will not only be supporting New Zealand innovation, but you’ll also receive a print subscription and a copy of the new book by David Downs and Dr. Michelle Dickinson, No. 8 Recharged (while stocks last).
Idealog is part of ICG. We work with clients like Woolworths New Zealand, All Good, Huffer, Liquorland, Resene, Citta Design, TVNZ, Spark and FCB on their event activations, in-store, in-office or out-of-home signage, content creation and vehicle wraps.
