Auckland’s Kingsize Studios is hosting an event with a twist tonight: ‘One more shot’, featuring work by nine photographic assistants. It’s a great idea and the gallery shows some promising talent. The (assistant) photographers all look like they’d be equally comfortable on the other side of the camera but their profiles show they’re a determined bunch with big ambitions in the photography biz.
You’ve got to admire the twist, too, on Petrice Rhodes’ bio: off overseas next year, and then “back to New Zealand to take over the world”. Bravo.
Kingside Studios, 27 Sackville St, Ponsonby, 6pm.
