Developers from two of the biggest game companies in the world, Naughty Dog and Epic Games, will speak at Digital Nationz next month.
Benson Russell is a senior designer at Naughty Dog and recently worked on The Last of Us, which has been heralded by game critics as being one of the best games of the current console generation.
Lead animator Jay Hosfelt will be representing Epic Games, which created the popular Gears of War series.
Local talent will also speak at the event, including Grinding Gear Games’ technical director Jonathan Rogers and mobile developer PikPok’s customer relationship manager Tara Brannigan.
“We feel very privileged, for this first speaker announcement, to be able to bring so many talented local and international speakers together at one event,” says Digital Nationz’s Peter Hall.
“All of [them] have such extensive backgrounds in gaming, tech, digital and will have a wealth of knowledge to share.”
The techies will be represented by Dr. Mark Sagar, who created an artificial intelligence that behaves like a baby, and Greg Broadmore of Weta Workshop.
Digital Nationz is a video games and technology expo being held at Vector Arena on the weekend of 28-29 September.
