What's better than a cool smartphone app? A free one. And Kiwis can now sink their teeth into a new free app each day thanks to the launch of AppTurbo's App of the Day in New Zealand.
How it works: An iPhone app that normally costs users to download becomes free for 24 hours – not unlike the daily deal concept. To access these apps for free, you need to download the official App of the Day first.
App of the Day has, unsurprisingly, found itself popular overseas in the US and Europe.
The team negotiates directly with a developer to get authorisation for their application to be free for 24 hours.
According to cofounder Guillaume Sztejnberg, they've already reached agreements with more than 50 paid applications and only works with the "best".
