Help build a virtual Lego world

Build with Chrome in LegoLove Lego? Well, Google is celebrating Lego's 50th Australian anniversary with a highly modern twist. In Build, you can construct Lego creations through your browser – yep, virtual Lego.

It's only available in Australia and New Zealand for now, and is layered over Google Maps. You can search for an empty plot and build your design alongside others. (Here's a giant kiwi in Christchurch.)

Give it a go at buildwithchrome.com (I had a quick go in Firefox as well as Chrome and it seemed to work on both).

Idealog has been covering the most interesting people, businesses and issues from the fields of innovation, design, technology and urban development for over 12 years. And we're asking for your support so we can keep telling those stories, inspire more entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and keep pushing New Zealand forward. Give over $5 a month and you will not only be supporting New Zealand innovation, but you’ll also receive a print subscription, an Idealog t-shirt and a copy of the new book by David Downs and Dr. Michelle Dickinson, No. 8 Recharged (while stocks last).
