Cyclone Computers and Gen-i have been appointed as suppliers of Apple products to the All-of-Government desktop and laptop computer procurement panel, giving government employees access to Apple devices.
The new appointment supplements Gen-i's existing contract with the procurement panel for the supply of Lenovo computers and Phillips monitors. Cyclone already supplies the government with Cyclone-branded, locally-assembled PCs.
The panel will eventually cover 219 government agencies, 78 councils and 2,500 schools across New Zealand.
Administered by the Department of Internal Affairs, the contract harnesses the collective buying power of its agencies.
The Apple products available include the the iPad, iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air range.
