Auckland gears up for nonstop week of tech events

In Auckland on Monday? Got nothing to do? Why not head along to the NZ Technology Trade and Investment Forum being held at the Langham Hotel as part of the Rutherford Innovation Showcase. It's the first in a week of Auckland-based events, and with high-level representatives from government and the private sector speaking and attending, it's the place to be for startups, entrepreneurs, software developers and others in the tech world.

Following that is the South Pacific Entrepreneurs Networking Event with clusters based on electronics, digital media, robotics, mobility, cloud and location-based services. As official sponsor, Microsoft will be giving away two category A tickets to the second Rugby World Cup quarterfinal at Eden Park as well as an XBox and HTC Trophy 7 phone.

September 28 brings us the Future Cities Forum; the unassuming name belies the calibre of speakers from all around the globe who will discuss best practice for transforming cities and towns into digital communities. Like all RIS events, it's quickly nearing capacity.

Make your way over to to register – they're all free, so you really have no excuse.
