Get connected

The modern world was meant to make us more connected. But, increasingly, it seems to be making us unhappier and more isolated. Helen Kerr, a landscape architect, master plan expert and principal at Isthmus, explains how good urban design and compact communities can limit loneliness and increase happiness.

AR me hearties

For the 2017 Innovation Issue – as with every issue – we wanted to try something new. So we talked to our friends at digital solutions agency One Fat Sheep to see if we could harness their augmented reality (AR) expertise. And, with the support of Chorus, we’ve turned the cover into an interactive contents page that brings the main sections and stories to life and blends print with digital.

Gratuitous self-promotion

The 2017 Innovation issue of Idealog is out now and is filled to the brim with inspiring individuals, ideas and companies. This issue features our first ever augmented reality cover, and also includes stories such as a day in the life of several Kiwi businesspeople in high-stress roles, Idealog Urban, our new urban design section and the winners of Idealog and Accenture's Most Creative People. In the spirit of gratuitous self-promotion, read on for a full breakdown on what you can expect in the latest issue.
