In this episode, edutech entrepreneur Kendall Flutey talks with Idealog's publisher and editorial director, Ben Fahy.

Aviation innovation

Innovators are often guilty of searching for solutions before identifying problems; of finding gaps in the market, without being sure if there’s a market in the gap. Xero needs little introduction. But we'll give it one anyway. It's New Zealand's undisputed tech darling, a major force in the small (and increasingly large) business world and, if things keep going the way they are with the country's booming tech sector, hopefully a taste of things to come. Ben Fahy, Idealog’s publisher and editorial director, sat down with managing director Anna Curzon in the Lorde room of its Auckland office.

Very Tall Poppies

Last night, the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland was humming with pride, aspiration, envy, laser beams and a dash of good-natured jingoism as Kea handed out its World Class New Zealand Awards. As per usual, the recipients’ remarkable careers offered a shot of inspiration for the attendees and made them believe they too were capable of greatness (or, for the less optimistic, made them question their own paltry achievements and bad life choices). Here are some of the key lessons we took away from the talented humans who ventured up on stage.
