What if you were to take two sheepskins of different colours, cut them into identical patterns, exchange the parts and sew them back together?
Bettina Bley, who's just returned to the US after living in New Zealand for a decade, is the latest to jump on the merino bandwagon and has plans for a line of sassy sheepskin throws in black and white.
Bley has completed prototyping, found a Kiwi manufacturer and lined up distributors and shipping – now she's looking to kickstart $9,000 to bring the Lanzkin range to market.
She has nothing but praise for Kiwi fleeces - "an amazing natural fibre, the whitest, the finest in the world".
