Jane Russo, aka Designjane, harbours secret fantasies about breeding unicorns and secret agenthood.
My first job was... Delivering a local Te Aroha newspaper on my wee bike at age 11.
And now the title on my business card is... Designer/Illustrator
Which really means... Creative multitasker and rider of unicycle down the line between brilliance and bonkers
My day starts with... World news. Brekkie (healthy and gluten free). Coffee (black and strong).
And ends with... It's multifarious: drawing, music, reading, Skypeing, tweeting, a wee dram, herb tea, zzzzzz
And in between, I ... Perform a juggling act. Observe. Listen. Create relevant design/artwork. Participant in malarkey. Laugh. Explore
My first artistic memory is... Drawing and creating my own birthday card at age four
If I wasn't doing this, I'd be... a secret agent. Vespa evangelist. Unicorn breeder. Travel journalist. Charity advocate.
I'm inspired by... Bravery, non-conformity, frank originality, religions, nature
I can't live without... Laughter, love, family, friends, sketchbook, iPhone, MacBookPro, coffee, running, curiosity
True 'style' is... A charismatic truthful conversation with simplicity. Purposeful, subtle
My work in three words is... Relevant, uncomplicated, sincere
