A day in the life of ... illustrator Angela Keoghan

The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards Technical Finalists have just been announced and an Idealog favourite features as the creator of one of the finalists for Best Album. Angela Keoghan of The Picture Garden created the illustration for Bannerman's CD Dearly Departed. She opens up her sketchbook to tell us what a day in the life is like.

My first job was ... doing the banking for my parents' business.

And now the title on my business card is ... image maker.

Which really means ... I make pictures for a living!

My day starts with ... green tea.

And ends with ... a pillow.

And in between, I ... play with pencils and tell stories.

My first artistic memory is ... drawing the hospital car park on a visit to meet my new little brother.

If I wasn't doing this, I'd ... be drawing pictures anyway or writing music.

I'm inspired by ... travel, adventure, the Victorian age and vintage children's books.

I can't live without ... my sketchbook!

True 'style' is ... formed over time and it can't be rushed.

My work in three words is ... naive, curious and whimsical.
