Endemic World dials up mint prints

Online design store Endemic World hit the market back in 2007, quickly cementing its place as the home of cool, clever and creative New Zealand design. And last month it relaunched with a refined strategy, unveiling a new and specific focus on art and design prints and the tagline “saving blank walls, one print at a time”.

New prints will be released regularly, including limited edition versions of popular prints in new colourways, and new designers will be brought on board from New Zealand, Australia and further afield.

According to Endemic World director Elliot Alexander (also of Studio Alexander, a sister company), acclaimed New York designer Swissted and Melbourne’s Inaluxe are among the first international names you can expect to see.

Co-founder Kate Alexander says the change has been in the pipeline for six months based on a sales bias towards prints, and the natural connection with the design business, Studio Alexander.


They're adamant that customers can still expect the same level of quality and customer service and $5 flat rate shipping within New Zealand, even if the product catalogue itself has changed.
 

Visitors can search prints by price range, popularity, or colour; save prints to a personal wishlist on the site; or share designs through Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.

“We’ve got letterpress and hand-screened prints, affordable reproductions of original painted works, digital illustrations, large format posters, even spray painted stencil and screen-print combos," says Elliot. "The styles are just as varied – bright hypercolour prints, hand-drawn, typographic statements for your wall, bold and geometric, street art style, cute and feminine, tongue-in-cheek…"

A range of frames and hanging products is in the works, while a small collection of gifts and designer goods will still be available, including a few bestsellers and a regular roster of brand new products.
