Colleen Pugh is capturing hearts around the country from a little studio in Dunedin.
Her indie design brand Dear Colleen draws on her trade of hand lettering and illustration, with a healthy splash of wit.
The "professional smartass" has not just has her work included in shoots for the likes of Anthropologie, House and Garden and Frankie but caught the eye of World. Francis Hooper was given one of her 'Loser' rosettes as a gift and was so taken with it that he tracked Pugh down via email – and World ended up designing a few new colour combinations and selling the line in its stores.
She says Dear Colleen was as a purely creative outlet for ideas and designs – so no one was more surprised than her when her homeware, art and fashion started catching on around the blogosphere thanks to her bent for quirky wordplay.
