Dick Powell on why you need to look—not see

It’s not hard to come up with good ideas. As a designer, the challenge is in building a belief within yourself that you can make the idea work. So says Dick Powell, chairman of global creative, design and advertising organisation D&AD. Powell has sat on the boards of the Design Council, the Design Business Association and the D&AD Executive, was global design advisor to Samsung Electronics and is currently a member of the International Advisory Panel for Design in Singapore. He also takes the role of group creative director at Seymourpowell's parent company Loewy. 

Speaking at the NZTE Better by Design CEO Summit, he discuses the strong link between design and innovation.
