If you think purple and orange just don’t go together, think again. Lauren Willhite is a graphic designer who’s out to illustrate that purple and orange can indeed be visually symbiotic, and so can any number of colour combinations.
The Oregon-based designer has created her Color Collective website with the aim of providing designers with a resource for color. Willhite has collected colour palettes from numerous designers, photographers and artists who inspire her in the hope that visitors to her site will in turn draw on that inspiration.
What we really love about this site, and what makes it unique, is the way individual colours are pulled out to create instant colour palettes, informing the mood of the featured piece. And even if colour palettes aren’t your thing, the images as standalone pieces speak for themselves as sources of artistic and creative aspiration.
