UPDATED: TEDxAuckland is back for another year this August

TEDxAuckland is returning to the Aotea Centre this August, bringing some of the country's most interesting minds together for a full day of stimulating talks, discussions and learning. 

TEDxAuckland organiser Elliott Blade says that people can expect "a diverse mix of familiar and emerging Kiwi thinkers who are sure to ignite some great action and conversation" at this year's conference on August 3.

Update: Newly announced speakers in this year's line-up include:

Helen Clark

Former New Zealand Prime Minister and administrator of the UNDP.

Jimi Hunt

Founder of the Live More Awesome charity and author of A Bit Mental.

Peter Russell

Local food advocate, social entrepreneur and founder of Ooooby.

​Richard Faull

Professor and director of the Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland.

David Trubridge

​New Zealand furniture and lighting designer.

Robyn Paterson

Award-winning documentary director of Finding Mercy. 

Malcolm Rands

Sustainability specialist and co-founder of ecostore.

Grace Taylor

Poet, teaching artist and creative entrepreneur.

Accomplished chef and author of the Gourmand World Cookbook award-winning book Me'a Kai: The Food and Flavours of the South Pacific.

Dale Williams

Mayor of Otorohanga and Chair of the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs. A certified motorcycle engineer by trade, Dale has first-hand experience launching and growing successful motorcycle dealerships and training young people through apprenticeship programmes.

Sophie Tamati

Award-winning educational entrepreneur and senior lecturer at the University of Auckland. Sophie launched the Hika programmes: Hika Explorer and Hika Lite, to support students and teachers in achieving their language goals.
