Penguin spins heads as official Rugby World Cup book hits shelves just days after victory

Talk about a quick turnaround – the official NZRU and RWC commemorative celebration book of Sunday’s All Blacks win will be in shops on Thursday, less than a week after the Rugby World Cup final.

Penguin Group NZ publicity manager Raewyn Davies said all stops were being pulled out to get the book to the printers and completed in the space of three days.

Published by Penguin Group, it will feature match reports on every All Black game, with key stats, moments, highlights and lowlights, photos of the games and the defining moments, an A3 pull-out poster of the winning team with the Cup, off-field coverage of the team off the field, snaps from the opening ceremony  – and yes, a picture of Sonny Bill changing his shirt.

Meanwhile, rugby commentator Bob Howitt's Black: Where it belongs will be released by the end of the month. The 136-page book includes reviews of each New Zealand Pool A game, every match from the quarterfinals on, the top players of the tournament, key statistics and photos from the victory parade.

The founding editor of NZ Rugby World magazine, Howitt has published 19 books and is editor of Rugby News.
